Kampala, Uganda, East Africa. Dec 12/25, 2022

On 25/7th January 2023 according to the ecclesiastical calendar, being the Birth of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Cathedral of St. Nektarios located at Buwalula Kawanga Block 11, Plot Number 52 on Kampala Mityana Rd, will be officially opened beginning with the thanks giving Divine Liturgy.

The Rt. Hon. Robinah Nabbanja, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Uganda will be the Chief Guest.

During the same ceremony, our brother Joao Adriano Jaime Dos Santos from the Democratic Republic of Angola will be ordained to the holy priesthood and at the same time, Carlos Alberto Rol will receive his first holy communion in the True Church founded by our Jesus Christ.

May the Almighty God receives Mr. Carlos Alberto Rol and Joao Dos Santos into His True Orthodox Faith.

In the love of Christ, I offer my apostolic blessings to all their final plans and preparations to fly to Uganda!

On 22 February / 7 March 2021, the Sunday of the meat fare, by the grace of the Almighty God, 152 catechumens will be baptized into the True Orthodox Faith at the Church of the Nativity of the Theotokos - Jinja.

I pray to God that the Holy Spirit may work in them and through them so as to be loving, and believing children of the Lord and His Holy Church. I request that we pray for the catechumens in their final preparations to be received into the True Orthodox Faith. In the love of Christ, I offer my apostolic blessings to all the catechumens and their God parents!

Denver, Colorado, Sept 6/19, 2020

The Synod of the Genuine Orthodox Church of America has elected the Reverend Hieromonk Nektarios to be Bishop of Kampala and Uganda; and as a member of the Synod of the Genuine Orthodox Church of America, as vicar bishop of the synod. He will minister to the needs of the faithful in Africa. Consecration will take place at the sacred monastery of Dormition Skete, Buena Vista Colorado, USA in the cathedral Church on Sunday, the 20th of September 2020.
